Two schools in Nottingham were placed on lockdown earlier today following reports of an intruder on school grounds, forcing students to hide for 30 minutes under classroom tables.

One parent, whose son is in Year 13, described the situation, saying his son’s class hid under tables for approximately 30 minutes as police rushed to the scene on College Way.

Bilborough College issued a statement to parents confirming that the lockdown lasted 40 minutes and thanked students for adhering to the lockdown procedures, which they practice regularly during drills.
