Police Launch Manhunt After Major Incident

Police in South Lanarkshire have launched a manhunt after a 42-year-old man was seriously injured in a targeted daylight stabbing on Main Street in Cambuslang, near Glasgow.

Emergency services rushed to the scene outside Cambuslang Gate shortly after 12pm on Tuesday, 22 April, following reports of an altercation that left one man requiring hospital treatment.

The victim was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment and has since been discharged. Officers believe the attack was targeted and are urging members of the public to come forward with any information.

Detective Constable David Telfer of Police Scotland said:

“We believe this was a targeted attack. It happened on a busy road in the middle of the day and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault or who has any information which could assist to contact us.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area and who may have dash-cam footage to contact us.”

The suspect is described as male, around 5ft 8in tall, of medium build, and was wearing a blue tracksuit and glasses at the time of the attack.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no arrests have yet been made.
