Greater Manchester Police have released an appeal to identify a person seen acting suspiciously in the early hours of Saturday 29 March 2025 on Coronation Street, Heywood.
The incidents occurred between 1am and 5am and reportedly extended to nearby Magdala Street and Middleton Road. The nature of the suspicious behaviour has not been publicly disclosed by police, but it is understood that the individual was captured on multiple doorbell and CCTV cameras in the area.
One local resident told the Manchester Evening News they discovered the incident had taken place outside their home at around 4.20am while they and their family were asleep. They became aware of the situation after reviewing footage from their video doorbell.
Officers are now appealing to the public for help in identifying the person shown in the footage. A still image of the individual has been circulated via GMP Rochdale’s Facebook page as part of the appeal.
In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said:
“Officers in Heywood want to identify a person acting suspiciously on Coronation Street between 1am and 5am on Saturday 29 March and nearby on Magdala Street and Middleton Road last night.

Residents in the area are being encouraged to check any doorbell or security camera footage from the early hours of that morning and to report any sightings or information that could assist the investigation.
