Greater Manchester Police confirmed on Saturday morning that the injuries sustained by both teenagers were serious but thankfully not life-threatening or life-changing. As of the latest update, no arrests have been made and enquiries remain ongoing. GMP says officers are continuing to examine CCTV footage and speak to potential witnesses in the area.

Detective Inspector Geoff Machent from GMP’s north Manchester division described the incident as “concerning, especially owing to the ages of those involved.” He said: “Extensive work is ongoing to identify and locate suspects… and we are working with specialist partners to ensure the victims are safeguarded.” Extra patrols have been deployed in the area to reassure the public and help gather information.
Bystanders Urged to Come Forward
Police are now appealing to anyone who may have seen the attack or witnessed suspicious activity in the area to come forward.
