A night out turned into chaos in one of London’s most exclusive districts after a gang of machete-wielding men tried to storm a high-end nightclub in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Attack on Dover Street
The drama unfolded just after 3am outside Tabu nightclub on Dover Street, Mayfair – a venue popular with celebrities and known for its Tokyo-inspired interior. The group of men had allegedly been refused entry earlier in the night and returned armed with large blades in an attempt to force their way inside.
Witnesses described the moment as “pure chaos” as the men charged at the door with machetes. A nearby venue manager said: “How anyone wasn’t hurt was just pure luck.”
Police Response and Arrests
The Met Police rushed to the scene following reports of a disturbance and weapons being brandished. One man was arrested outside the club and three more were later detained in Hertfordshire.
All four men remain in custody, and police confirmed that two people were injured during the incident, though their injuries are not life-changing.
Clubbers Left Shaken
Officers placed a cordon outside the venue as they began collecting evidence. A police spokesperson said: “This is believed to be an isolated incident, and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the events or has information to come forward.”
Luxury Venue in the Spotlight
Tabu nightclub is a high-end venue known for its exclusive crowd and vibrant nightlife. The club’s website encourages table bookings for easier entry and describes itself as “the home of Tokyo Nightlife.”
