Manhunt Underway After Woman Is Badly Injured By Fleeing Shoplifter

Police Release CCTV Image of Suspect Following Supermarket Theft

Avon and Somerset Police are searching for a man after a shoplifting incident in Speedwell, Bristol, left a woman injured. Officers have released CCTV images of the suspect as part of their appeal to identify him.

The incident took place at a supermarket on Lodge Road just after 11am on Wednesday, January 29. A man entered the store and stole a quantity of products before running out of the premises. As he fled, he collided with a woman in her fifties, knocking her to the ground. The impact caused injuries to her back and arms, requiring hospital treatment.

Investigation and Police Description of Suspect

Following the incident, police launched an investigation and have now made CCTV images public. The suspect is described as a white male in his thirties or forties. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black padded jacket and a light-coloured hooded top.

Officers are keen to trace the individual and are urging members of the public to assist with their inquiries. They are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV images or who may have been in the area at the time of the incident.

Avon and Somerset Police have issued a direct appeal for information, asking anyone who may be able to identify the suspect to come forward. Police continue to investigate and are determined to locate the individual responsible for the theft and the subsequent injury caused to the victim.
