Shocking CCTV footage has captured the moment a man armed with a large knife stormed into a restaurant in northwest London, repeatedly stabbed his victim, and then paused to film him on his phone.
The violent attack happened on Tuesday in Willesden following what police believe was a car chase that ended in a crash.
Victim fled into restaurant after crash
The victim, a man in his 20s, had reportedly been followed by the attacker in a separate car. After a collision between the two vehicles, the victim fled into a nearby restaurant to escape.
Footage shows him attempting to barricade the glass door, but the attacker forces his way in and appears to stab the man in the arm, causing him to fall to the floor.
The knifeman, dressed head-to-toe in black with his hood up and face partially covered, then delivers several more stabs to the victim’s legs and torso.
Attacker films the aftermath
At one point, the suspect seems to turn towards the door to leave before suddenly changing his mind and kicking the man again. He then pulls out his phone and appears to record the scene, standing over the victim as he films.
The disturbing video ends as another customer enters the restaurant and appears to usher the attacker away. The victim, still conscious, manages to stand and walk.
Police investigation ongoing
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the victim later took himself to hospital with stab wounds that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
A spokesperson for the force said: “It is believed the victim was driving a car when he was followed by the suspect in another vehicle. A collision took place and the victim ran into a restaurant where he was stabbed.”
No arrests have been made, but detectives say enquiries are ongoing.
The terrifying nature of the attack, and the suspect’s decision to stop and record the scene, has left many in the area stunned. Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
