Investigation Launched As Royal Navy Recruit Dies At Training Base

Police have launched an investigation into the unexplained death of a Royal Navy serviceman who tragically died during routine training at HMS Raleigh, a military base near Plymouth.

The 38-year-old man is reported to have suffered a suspected medical episode on Tuesday, March 11, which prompted emergency services to attend the scene. Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

Ongoing Investigations

The death is currently being treated as unexplained and is under investigation by Devon and Cornwall Police, with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) assisting in the inquiry. Additionally, the Royal Navy has launched its own investigation into the incident.
