BREAKING: Massive Rescue Underway as Girl, 11, Falls into River Thames

An urgent rescue mission is taking place in east London after an 11-year-old girl was seen entering the River Thames this afternoon.

Emergency Response Floods Thames After Girl Vanishes in Water

Police were called at around 1.15pm on Monday (March 31) to reports of a child entering the water near Barge House Causeway, close to Woolwich Ferry. A huge operation involving emergency helicopters, police, fire services and RNLI crews is underway to try and locate her.

A police spokesperson said: “A large-scale response is ongoing, supported by all emergency services, working together to conduct an extensive search in efforts to locate her.”

Next of Kin Informed as Search Enters Critical Hours

The girl’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. A fireboat and RNLI vessel were seen sweeping the Thames as part of the desperate search.

London Ambulance Service also attended the scene with a full team including a hazardous area response unit, but were later stood down.

RNLI Lifeboats Seen on Scene – But Still No Confirmation

An RNLI spokesperson told Metro they believe their lifeboat was in action on the Thames but could not yet confirm if it was connected to this incident.

The condition or whereabouts of the missing girl remains unknown.
