A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap after a woman was allegedly forced into a vehicle in Bolton and later tracked to East Yorkshire.
Police Pursuit Ends in Woodmansey
Humberside Police confirmed they were alerted to the incident by Greater Manchester Police at around 12.55am on Friday, 14 March. The suspected vehicle was believed to be in the area following an attempted abduction in Bolton.
Officers from the Roads Policing Unit quickly deployed and located a white Peugeot in Howden at around 1am. The vehicle was then monitored as it travelled through North Ferriby before eventually stopping at a garage on Dunswell Road in Woodmansey.
Upon approaching the vehicle, officers found a woman inside who matched the description of the alleged victim. They immediately arrested a 40-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap.
Suspects Believed to Be Known to Victim
According to Humberside Police, early enquiries indicate that the two arrested individuals were known to the woman. Both suspects remain in police custody as officers continue their investigation.
Police Appeal for Information
Authorities are now conducting multiple lines of enquiry to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “Upon approaching the vehicle, officers identified a woman matching the description of the woman who is believed to have been forced into the car, and the driver, a 40-year-old man, and passenger, a 19-year-old woman were subsequently arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap.”
The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact Humberside Police or Greater Manchester Police as they piece together the events leading up to the arrests.
