Border Force Raid Greater Manchester House After ‘Suspicious’ Packages Found

Investigation Targets Drug Importation Network

A house in Wigan has been raided by Greater Manchester Police following the interception of multiple suspicious packages containing illicit drugs by UK Border Force. Officers executed a drugs warrant at a property on Bryn Street in Ince on Tuesday morning as part of an ongoing investigation into the importation of controlled substances.

Police confirmed that the property was identified after Border Force seized several packages linked to the address in recent months. Each package was found to contain a significant quantity of contraband.

Arrest Made as Investigation Expands

During the raid, police made an arrest, though the suspect’s identity has not yet been disclosed. Investigators are now focusing on additional properties believed to be connected to the operation, with officers confirming that further addresses in the Scholes and Ince areas will be targeted in the coming weeks.

A spokesperson for GMP Wigan said that the operation is part of a wider strategy known as Operation Concept, a collaborative effort between Greater Manchester Police, UK Border Force, Royal Mail, and the Regional Organised Crime Unit. The initiative aims to disrupt networks involved in the importation of controlled drugs, weapons, and other illicit items.

Police Urge Public to Report Suspicious Activity

Authorities have urged residents to report any suspicious activity linked to drug importation or distribution. Officers remain committed to tackling organised crime and ensuring that those involved in smuggling illegal substances are brought to justice. Investigations remain ongoing as police continue their efforts to dismantle drug networks operating in the region.
