Police and Supporters Club Appeal for Public Assistance
Efforts to locate Darren Orme, a well-known Wigan Athletic fan, have been scaled up as the search enters its second day.
Darren, a familiar face at Latics matches for many years, was last seen at 6:30pm on Wednesday, March 5, on Beech Hill Lane in Wigan. It is believed he was at the Douglas Bank pub that evening before his disappearance.
Wigan Athletic Supporters Club Issues Appeal
A statement from the Official Wigan Athletic Supporters Club urged fans and the public to remain vigilant, stating:
“The police have scaled up the search for Darren overnight but he has not yet been found. As daylight approaches and more people are out and about, please contact the police on the number below if you see Darren so we can bring him home and make him safe. Thank you.”
A previous statement on Thursday night added:
“He was last seen in the Dougie Bank pub [Wednesday] night and is not at home today or answering his phone. His phone does not have internet capability so he cannot access social media.”

Description and Last Known Clothing
Darren is described as:
• 6ft 3ins tall
• Slim build
• Short ginger hair
At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing:
• Navy blue Wigan Athletic jumper
• Blue jeans
• Blue trainers
• Black gilet coat
Greater Manchester Police Urge Public to Assist
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) issued an urgent appeal on Thursday night, sharing Darren’s photo and asking for any information regarding his whereabouts.
A GMP spokesperson said:
“Officers want to make sure he is safe and well.”
