A violent thug who was jailed for brutally robbing a kind-hearted driver has been found dead in HMP Doncaster, just two months after beginning his six-year prison term.

Simon Kubalik, 20, from Beeston, was sentenced in November 2024 after admitting to a vicious robbery in Leeds. The attack, which took place on 25 April, left his victim with severe facial fractures requiring surgery.
Kubalik had approached a driver in Harehills Lane, Leeds, requesting a lift for himself and a female companion. However, upon reaching St Albans Road, he launched a relentless assault on the unsuspecting driver, repeatedly punching him in the face before stealing his wallet and phone.
