Two Men Decapitated DPD Driver in Execution In Broad Daylight

Two men have been found guilty of the cold-blooded murder of DPD delivery driver Aurman Singh, who was savagely ambushed and killed in a premeditated gang attack during his delivery round in Shropshire.

Mehakdeep Singh, 24, and Sehajpal Singh, 26, were convicted at Stafford Crown Court following a three-week trial, where jurors heard harrowing details of the daylight assault that led to the 23-year-old’s death in Coton Hill.

Aurman was attacked by seven men wielding a knife, axe, shovel, golf club, and hockey stick. He was vastly outnumbered and stood no chance of survival, with the court told his injuries were so severe that death at the scene was inevitable. The attackers fled immediately, abandoning their weapons nearby and escaping in two vehicles — a white Mercedes Benz and a grey Audi.

The Mercedes, used by Mehakdeep and Sehajpal, was found abandoned on Kynaston Road in Shrewsbury. From there, the duo reportedly took a taxi to a nearby train station and travelled to Wolverhampton before fleeing the UK for Austria.

West Mercia Police later tracked the fugitives to the remote Austrian village of Hohenzell, where they were arrested and extradited to face justice in the UK.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Bellamy described the killing as a “violent and calculated execution,” adding:

“Sehajpal and Mehakdeep, along with six other men, carried out this attack in broad daylight on a quiet street with one goal — to kill. They had access to inside information about Aurman’s delivery route and ambushed him while he was defenceless.”

DCI Bellamy continued:

“After the attack, they fled the country to avoid facing the consequences of their actions, but we were relentless in our pursuit of justice for Aurman.”

This verdict follows the conviction of five other men in April 2024. Arshdeep Singh, 24, Jagdeep Singh, 23, Shivdeep Singh, 27, and Manjot Singh, 24, were each sentenced to 28 years in prison. A fifth accomplice, Sukhmandeep Singh, 24, who provided the group with Aurman’s delivery route, was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 10 years.

Sukhmandeep’s betrayal from within allowed the gang to track the victim’s exact location, enabling them to carry out the fatal ambush with chilling precision.

The case has shocked the local community and highlighted the dangerous consequences of targeted, gang-orchestrated violence, even in broad daylight.
